After a 48 year tumultuous marriage to Sayde Marks, Jack Benny died in the winter of 1974.  Every day from Jack’s funeral until the day she died, Sayde Marks received a single long-stemmed red rose.  In his last will and testament, Jack had directed that a sufficient amount of money be set aside to give his widow one rose every day for the rest of her life.  She lived for another 9 years with this beautiful reminder of Jack’s love for her.
