Our Estate Practice Areas
Probate & Estate Administration
When a family member dies, many questions and challenges arise. There are emotional hurdles as well as logistical ones. Families must manage the grief and sadness of a personal loss, while also addressing legal and financial concerns. It can feel overwhelming, and families are often unsure of how to proceed. Clients often worry that probate will be time-consuming and expensive, or that those in charge may not be protecting the best interests of the estate. It is true that probate can be confusing and costly if not handled properly but, if properly navigated, the process can be efficient and cost-effective. Clients often tell us they are able to come to terms with the death of a loved only after the legal and financial issues have been resolved.
Estate & Trust Litigation
The burdens on a family after a loved one’s death can feel immense. It is a difficult time for those managing both their grief and the legal aspects of an estate. Fearing that your loved one’s final wishes are not being carried out can make the situation even more complicated. Many families wonder what rights they have and what can be done. You may not want to get into a legal battle—it is a common worry that litigation will be costly and time-consuming, or that the effort will be all for nothing in the end.
At Antonelli & Antonelli, however, our experienced estate litigation attorneys can help you and your family resolve your loved one’s estate as effectively as possible. Even if you don’t live in New York, our legal team can be your advocate in court, working to ensure that your loved one’s wishes are carried out and your rights are protected.
Estate Planning
Do you have an estate plan? You may be surprised to know that the truth is, everyone has an estate plan. Whether they realize it or not, the estate of every person will follow a plan after death. For estates large and small, for those who have drafted a plan themselves or not, decisions will be made about what is left behind. Many people make those decisions themselves and leave a will or trust for loved ones to follow. For others who do not create a personal, memorialized plan, the laws of New York will make those decisions for you. Therefore, the real question becomes—does your estate plan accomplish your individual goals?
Whether your estate plan consists of a simple will or a complex combination of estate documents, it deals with the most important issues in your life—your health and your family. At the law office of Antonelli & Antonelli, our lawyers carefully attend to the unique needs presented by each client’s life, family, and finances, and we devise a plan that is tailored to meet your wishes. Don’t let the fate of your estate be decided by default, contact our Manhattan office today to learn more about how you can protect your family’s future.
