Daniel R. Antonelli is a graduate of California Western School of Law. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2007 and shortly thereafter joined in the practice of law with his father, Richard C. Antonelli. Daniel’s practice is centered on decedent's estates with a special emphasis on estate litigation.
As a court-appointed fiduciary in New York State Surrogate’s Court, and through private practice, Daniel handles all aspects estate administration and estate litigation, including will contests, kinship hearings, contested accountings, and fiduciary misconduct.
While New York City attorneys can sometimes seem unapproachable, clients find Daniel to be easy to talk to. They appreciate his responsiveness and candor. He understands that legal issues involving the death of a loved one can be very emotional.
“I love hearing from clients that I did something to put them at ease. While many attorneys want to be viewed as a ‘pit-bull,’ the role of an attorney is really more dynamic. Aggressive representation in a litigated matter is a must; but when working with a client the most important skills are empathy, clear communication, and responsiveness.”
Professional Interests
Daniel is a Trustee of the Brooklyn Bar Association where he is also co-chair of the Trusts & Estates Section. He is also an active member of numerous other bar associations.
“The opportunity to be part of the New York legal community is very special. Participating in bar associations is the best way to be involved. It fosters an environment of competitive camaraderie and facilitates mentoring, education, and networking.”
Daniel gives back to the community by representing those with limited means on a pro bono basis, and by mentoring younger lawyers through his bar association affiliations. He also speaks periodically at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on topics such as trusts and estates, attorney ethics, and law practice management.
Personal Life
Born in Brooklyn and raised in New Jersey, Daniel always wanted to come back to the city life of New York. He loves the diversity of people, architecture, and culture of each borough’s distinct neighborhoods. While outside the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, especially outdoor adventures with his wife and two sons.
